Meet Our Service Specialist:
Wayne Baker
In 1963, Wayne became a Porsche mechanic trainee and in 1965 he went to the Porsche Certified Service School. He worked in the Porsche dealership system in the Los Angeles area as a journeyman mechanic and eventually moved to San Diego where he established Personalized Autohaus, Inc. in 1974. He married Nancy in 1974 and she became a major part of the business in 1976.
Racing became a large part of Personalized Autohaus in the late 70's with racing in SCCA and then moving up to the professional series in IMSA by racing a highly modified 914-4 cylinder, light-weight, 2.0 liter engine, achieving over 230 horsepower. Wayne was the first (and to our knowledge) the only person to win an IMSA race in the GTU class in a 914-4 cylinder by winning Sears Point and also to completely finish both the 12 hours of Sebring and the 24 hours of Daytona in this same car.
After doing all he could with the 914-4, he decided to take on another challenge by campaigning a 934 Porsche in the GTO class for the 1983 IMSA racing season. With 17 races that year from coast-to-coast, 2 fabulous co-drivers (Jim Mullen and Kees Nierop), 5 class wins and the first to win the 12 hours of Sebring first overall, it finally culminated with winning the IMSA GTO Championship. Wayne decided to retire from racing in 1985 when being an independent entry in the racing world would have been too expensive to successfully compete with the factory teams.
In 1998, Wayne was introduced to vintage racing by entering a customer's 1958 RSK at Laguna Seca for the 50th Anniversary of Porsche. That experience led to many other events such as racing a 1967 Porsche 910 in the Tour Auto in France, 24 hours of Magny Cours in a 1965 Porsche 911, racing in Spa, Belgium, Nurburgring and Monza, Italy.
In 2000 he organized the Porsche 2.0 Liter Challenge Series with HSR-West in California. With his racing experience and background, he offers mentoring and an arrive-and-drive program for new and experienced drivers. With a 4-car transporter and a 6-car transporter, he has traveled to many of the famous tracks in the USA such as Sebring, Daytona, Road Atlanta, Road America and Watkins Glen to name a few with his customers winning many races and championships.
Wayne brings a lot of expertise to this business for all of his experiences whether it applies to street work or racing.

Glenn is a certified technician on all Porsches, Volvos and BMWs. He has been with Personalized Autohaus, Inc. since 1977 and he became shop foreman in 1985 and part owner in 2005.
He was part of our professional racing team from 1978-1985 including the IMSA Championship for GTO in 1983. He has also been an integral part of our Vintage Racing Program since 1998 where our customers have won numerous races and championships in the Porsche 2.0 liter series in the United States and Europe.
Glenn is our restoration specialist having restored numerous 356 Porsches including Speedsters, Cabriolets and Coupes, 904's, 910's, RSR's, early 911's, 914's and 911 Turbo's.
He is a specialist in stock and performance engine building and transmission overhauling for street or track applications and specializes in suspension set-up, jack weighting, corning balancing and specific alignment specs for street or track.
